Summer 2023: Passion Project

Started during my freshman and sophomore years of college, I began fabricating jewelry using found and unconventional materials such as rocks, crystals, computer parts, recycled metal, plastic, natural fibers, and secondhand trinkets. This brand emerged from my desire to market and share these one-of-a-kind handmade pieces.

Marketed through online platforms and out-of-home (OOH) advertising, the brand achieved total sales of over 300 pieces. This included online sales shipped to 10 different states and Canada, as well as in-person sales through vendor events across Northern Vermont.

Branding

Selling one-of-a-kind jewelry requires a striking brand identity. Combining electric purple—a color historically associated with wealth, luxury, and glamour—with gray-silver, reflecting the metal that Alisa’s Signature Kreations exclusively worked with, created a unique and specific approach within today’s trendy small-business artist market.

This identity was further strengthened through counterculture-inspired advertising and bold brand expression. The logo mark features the disjointed word “ASK,” with balancing waveforms that both connect and separate the letters, symbolizing individuality and movement. Additionally, elements of abstract expressionism were portrayed throughout the brand’s imagery and visual language.

The brand was designed to appeal to counterculture youth and young adults, while also attracting a niche audience of bold, fashion-forward older generations.
