Dead End Road is a haunted escape room experience set in a sleepy, forgotten town at the end of an eerie dirt road. Inspired by the supernatural and the occult, the brand identity uses a moody blue color palette to create a chilling yet intriguing atmosphere. The concept is designed to attract adventurous Denver locals seeking immersive thrills and mysterious experiences. Through atmospheric visuals, eerie typography, and haunting storytelling, Dead End Road positions itself as a destination where curiosity leads visitors down a path they may not escape.
For this project, I used a previous assignment centered on rebranding a neighborhood as a jumping-off point to create a more immersive and experience-driven concept. I developed a set of brand pillars that helped guide and ground my creative decisions throughout the process. These pillars served as the foundation for building the brand identity, influencing everything from the visual direction to the storytelling and overall atmosphere. By using this structured approach, I was able to create a cohesive and compelling identity for Dead End Road that feels both intentional and engaging.

Monocrome, street signs, two fonts. Too busy and felt adolescent.
Added more issues. Needed to start new and return to the pillars.

Solution
The final logo system balances simplicity and storytelling. The primary wordmark uses sharp, haunting typography that feels weathered and unsettling, while the supporting icon, a skull hidden within a pine tree silhouette, reinforces the themes of mystery, danger, and the forgotten town setting. Together, these elements position Dead End Road as an immersive haunted escape room experience designed to attract adventurous Denver locals seeking thrilling and mysterious experiences. The final identity feels cohesive, intentional, and atmospheric, bringing the story of the brand to life through visuals that lure visitors down a path they may not escape.
